Position Overview
ABB is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Information & Maintenance Solutions team in Stavanger. The role involves assignments for Norwegian and international customers in green segments such as electrification, offshore wind, hydrogen and oil and gas, focusing on detailed design, engineering, and commissioning of ABB’s portfolio. Some traveling to customer sites is expected.

Responsibilities
- Design and engineer software solutions for safety‑and‑alarm management, 3rd‑party integration, history solutions, and/or cloud data streaming as part of automation system deliveries.
- Develop software solutions that enhance the automation system.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary deliveries, interpreting and translating the automation scope into high‑level configuration.
- Enhance automation value with top‑level products.
- Provide service and follow‑up for existing customers and installed systems.
- Communicate with customers in project and service contexts.
Background & Qualifications
- Engineering degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Automation, Cybernetics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of automation system design, safety engineering, and/or alarm management.
- Familiarity with system connectivity protocols such as OPC DA/UA, Modbus, TCP, etc.
- Strong commitment to quality and delivering on schedule.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); a valid working permit in Norway. Knowledge of Norwegian is an advantage.
- Several years of project experience.
- Curiosity about new technologies and services in areas such as web technologies, networking, Windows, Linux, databases, industrial IT (on‑premises and/or cloud), safety engineering, alarm management, project teamwork, customer communication, and value delivery.
