Tenth Revolution Group
Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Safety Critical Systems
My client are a specialist engineering unit within a larger, well established manufacturing group. They focus n the design and development of high reliability components used in safety critical applications across multiple industries including automotive, rail, industrial automation, unmanned systems and defence.
They work with mature, proven technologies and place a strong emphasis on correctness, documentation and long term reliability. The team is small, highly experienced and closely knit, with significant ownership of projects from concept through to production.
We are now looking to add mid to senior embedded engineers to strengthen the team and support continued growth.
The role
You will work across the full lifecycle of embedded systems used in safety critical environments. The work is varied and hands on, covering software development, testing and validation, and close collaboration with mechanical and systems engineers. You will have real ownership of your work and contribute directly to products that are deployed in the real world.
Must have experience
- Five or more years of relevant experience
- Strong C++ skills for embedded and real time systems
- Linux based development
- Microcontroller development experience, ideally STM32
- Experience working in safety critical environments, including standards and documentation
- Test and validation focused mindset
- Interest in broad technical work, from software to system level problem solving
Nice to have experience
- Yocto based systems
- DO 178C or IEC 61508 experience
- Fieldbus and signal protocols such as CANbus, Modbus or SPI
- Motor control systems
- FPGA based development
Beneficial but not essential
- CAD or mechanical design exposure
- SolidWorks, Altium or PCB design
- Verilog or hardware description languages
- Experience with safety and certification tooling such as QA MISRA, ASTREE, CANTATA or ADATEST is particularly attractive.
About the team and company
The company has been operating successfully for over 25 years and is part of a larger manufacturing organisation with extensive in house production capability. The environment is stable, profitable and growing, with a long term view rather than short term pressure.
The team is small and very senior, with a relaxed and pragmatic management style. We are intentionally expanding to balance experience levels and create long term continuity.
What is offered
- Work that directly contributes to safety critical systems in Norway and Europe
- A stable and financially strong employer
- A wide range of industries and technical challenges
- High ownership and autonomy in your projects
- A closely knit, collaborative team culture
- Bonus scheme and stock based incentives
If you enjoy working deeply with embedded systems, value quality over speed, and want to be part of a highly experienced engineering team building things that genuinely matter, this role will be a strong fit!
