Munu

Will You Help Us Bring the Future to the Table?

We think you might.

At Munu, we’re on a mission to transform how restaurants and bars run, grow, and thrive. We blend a deep love for food and tech with bold ambition, creating tools that simplify operations, elevate guest experiences, and empower hospitality teams to perform at their best.

You’ll join a fast‑moving team that’s scaling across the Nordics. We care deeply about quality, precision, and progress, but we back it up with curiosity, humility, and a bias for action. We challenge ideas, not people. We share wins. We learn fast. And we never forget who we’re building for.

If you’re hungry to make an impact – to move quickly, build smart, and help shape the future of an entire industry – pull up a chair.

About The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Front of House team at Munu, you’ll build and evolve the POS platform that sits at the heart of how our customers take orders, handle payments, split bills, close shifts, and stay in control during the busiest hours of service.

This is a product‑and customer‑facing engineering role, where you’ll work at the intersection of technology, product, and real‑world workflows. The role involves both discovery and development, and you’ll join customer visits to observe how the system is actually used, contribute to early technical clarifications and prototyping, develop and improve features in production, and troubleshoot to ensure stable operations when it really matters.

You’ll be based in Stavanger, working closely with our local product team and collaborating daily with our development team in Poland. This is not a role for someone who only wants to implement finished specs. We’re looking for an engineer who wants to help shape solutions early, ask the right questions, and actively contribute to good product decisions.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

  • Build software that actually gets used every day, by restaurants, bars, cafés, and hotels across the Nordics.
  • Own the full picture. Understand the interplay between employee UX, restaurant workflow, robust domain logic, and performance under pressure.
  • Shape solutions early. Participate in discovery, prototyping, and technical clarifications – not just implementation.
  • Be the bridge between technology and reality. Join customer visits, bring real‑world usage back into technical decisions, and make complexity visible to product and design.
  • Take ownership of quality and stability. Ensure the system performs when the pace is high and the margins are small.
  • Grow into technical leadership. Through domain expertise and trust built over time, take on greater responsibility in technical direction and evolve into a Tech Lead role.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You…

  • Have 5+ years of experience developing and operating production systems.
  • Are comfortable with C#/.NET, async patterns, error handling, and maintainable architecture.
  • Enjoy working closely with product, design, and customers – not just writing code in isolation.
  • Understand the full picture from UI to backend and integrations.
  • Thrive with ownership and responsibility – not just task lists.
  • Are fluent in Norwegian and proficient in English.
  • Are based in Stavanger, or willing to relocate.
  • Are comfortable with stateful client applications and systems running close to physical hardware.
  • Are open to some customer visits and travel across the Nordics.

What Success Looks Like

  • You become a clear technical voice that drives better decisions earlier. You bring customer reality into technical choices by understanding how the system is actually used in operations.
  • You shape solutions together with product and design, and make technical trade‑offs visible early.
  • You take ownership of quality, stability, and delivery. The system works when the pace is high and the margins are small.
  • Your code ships to production and makes a real difference in the daily lives of hospitality teams across the Nordics.
  • Over time, you grow into greater technical responsibility through domain knowledge and trust earned within the team.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • You’ll be part of a company with deep industry knowledge and a mission that matters – empowering hospitality teams with better tools.
  • You’ll shape how a core business function is built, scaled, and refined – not just follow a playbook.
  • You’ll work with smart, kind, ambitious people across the Nordics – with zero ego and full accountability.
  • You’ll have the freedom to test, fail, learn, and try again, with the support and tools to do your best work.
  • You’ll grow with us – this role has real room to develop and take on greater responsibility over time.
