About the Role
The role centers on maintaining data center infrastructure, supporting day-to-day operations, and ensuring stable performance across hardware, networking, and supporting systems. The specialist will work onsite as part of the operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor data center infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, power, and cooling;
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, patching, cabling, and decommissioning;
- Troubleshoot hardware, network, and software issues to support uptime;
- Support migrations, new service rollouts, and redundancy efforts;
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards;
- Keep documentation up to date, including rack layouts, cabling maps, configurations, and inventories;
- Collaborate with cross functional groups to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in data center operations and infrastructure management (2+ years preferred);
- Strong troubleshooting abilities across hardware, networking, and operating systems;
- Hands-on experience with server hardware and familiarity with common OS environments;
- Cabling and cable management expertise, including installation, labeling, and structured cabling standards;
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals – LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall concepts;
- Proficiency in supporting data center systems and hardware;
- Strong problem-solving skills and clear communication;
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms;
- Scripting and automation skills;
- Experience with monitoring and DCIM tools;
- Knowledge of data center power, cooling, environmental systems, and cabling standards;
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Server+, or VMware VCP;
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments;
- Experience using ticketing and workflow systems.
